32 inch Plasma TV Launched by LG

LG Electronics has introduced its first 32-inch plasma TV, dubbed the 32PC5RV.

LG 32PC5RV TV comes with a variety of features like 16:9 aspect ratio for watching high-quality sources like DVDs, a 0.001 ms response time which delivers the fastest moving action movies and other contents.

According to Simon Kang, president and CEO of LG Electronics Digital Display Company, “It’s about carving out a new niche for a growing demand. When there is a large flat-panel TV in almost every living room in the high-end market, people start to want a more personal TV set for cozier settings, which has led to the ‘second TV’ trend. Meanwhile, there is explosive demand for this size of flat panel TV in emerging markets, in part due to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Until now, people had previously only been able to buy an LCD TV in this size range. So we are offering a plasma option, which is also easier on the eyes, to provide more choice to consumers.”

With the launch of its first 32 inch plasma TV, LG plan to broaden the options for global customers. The company plans to focus on selling this new plasma display to hoteliers and other retailers where small-size wall-mounted TV is favored the most.

Price of LG 32PC5RV ranges from $1,000 to $1,100. The LG 32PC5RV plasma will be available this month in Brazil. The Plasma TV is also expected to be launched in 27 nations worldwide by November that includes countries in Central/South and North America, Europe, CIS region, North and Southwest Asia and the Middle East.
