EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera

Canon’s Rebel lineup has a new addition in the form of the EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR camera. This entry-level T1i SLR combines the best qualities of the EOS 50D and EOS 5D Mark II. It’s said to be first Rebel camera to feature Full HD video capture. Along with the DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor, its 15.1 megapixel CMOS sensor with HD video capture ensures amazing pictures and videos.

Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A. stated, “We are witnessing the emergence of a new phase in digital imaging history, as high-resolution still images and HD video can now both be produced in a hand-held device, for under $1,000. This is truly a great time to be involved in digital imaging as the advent of online communities are helping usher in this next great era in imaging.”

Some of its features include a 3.0-inch Clear View LCD (920,000 dots/VGA) monitor and user friendly features like Auto Lighting Optimizer, Creative Auto Mode and Canon’s Live View modes. The camera offers continuous shooting at 3.4 fps for up to 170 large/fine JPEG images or up to nine RAW images in a single burst with class 6 or higher SD or SDHC memory card. Its cross-type AF measurement at the center is effective with all EF and EF-S lenses with lens apertures of f/2.8 or faster.

The EOS Rebel T1i camera is compatible with Canon’s complete line of over 60 Canon EF and EF-S lenses, to help provide an incredible variety of visual effects to both still and video imaging capture, including ultra-wide-angle and fish-eye to macro and super-telephoto. This includes all of Canon’s large-aperture EF L-series professional lenses.

The camera enables HD as well as SD Video Capture with 16:9 720p HD video capture at 30 fps, a Full HD 1080p video capture at 20 fps and it can also record 4:3 standard TV quality (SD) video capture at 640 x 480 pixels and 30 fps. You can effortlessly adjust the image sharpness, contrast, color saturation and white balance as well as apply these settings to the movie mode.

The camera offers Live View for both still images and videos. Its three Live View AF modes include Quick, Live and Face Detection. The Auto Lighting Optimizer technology ensures clear images while it automatically adjusts the brightness when the background is quite dark. Adding to your convenience is its Creative Auto Mode and EOS Integrated Cleaning System.

It includes a rechargeable battery pack and charger, USB and video cables, a neckstrap, an EOS Solutions Disk CD and is backed by a one year Canon U.S.A., Inc. limited warranty. It is estimated at a retail price of $799.99. Additionally, it comes in a kit version with Canon’s EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens and is retail priced at $899.99.
