Olympus E-520 DSLR Camera

Olympus has launched its latest DSLR camera, named E-520 that acts as a successor of the E-510 digital SLR camera. The company has worked over its skin and few new features.

With a sensor resolution of 10 megapixels, users can capture images at 3.5 frames-per-second. The digital SLR camera features a Live View mode that removes the need of having the users’ eye over the viewfinder. It has a larger 2.7-inch HyperCrystal II type LCD display with a resolution of 230,000 dots and boasts to offer twice the contrast (4:3) and better viewing angles.

The E-520 also comes pre-installed with Face Detection technology to detect and track up to eight faces, Shadow Adjustment Technology that brings out detail in underexposed areas of a scene, wireless flash capability and image stabilization as well as Live View Autofocus function.

Further the latest Olympus camera sports Interchangeable Lens with 3x optical zoom and 58mm lens thread. Running on Lithium Ion battery, it supports Type-I or Type-II CompactFlash cards (including Microdrives) or the less common xD-Picture Card format for storing images.

Expected to roll out in July this year in North America, the Olympus E-520 DSLR camera costs $700 (approx. Rs. 28,000). The camera comes bundled with Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens.
