Lenovo tosses in new ThinkCentre M91p desktop

Crafted in tower, small form factor and eco small form factor versions, the offering comes along with innovative technologies including SATA III, USB 3.0, Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 and support for four monitors, and enhanced security and manageability with the newest Intel Core vPro processors.

“We’ve packed the new ThinkCentre M91p desktop with the latest performance technologies, like Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, to give users and IT departments a noticeable difference in the way they work,” commented Tom Shell, vice president, ThinkCentre Desktop Marketing, Lenovo. “Now PC users can quickly open and save data, view graphics and video faster and stream work across four monitors.”

The ThinkCentre M91p is powered by Intel Core i5 and i7 processors with integrated Intel HD graphics. The solution houses four DIMM slots that are capable of delivering around 16GB of high speed DDR3 memory on specific models. Besides, SATA III technology renders enhanced read and write speeds while USB 3.0 transfers data quickly as compared to USB 2.0. In addition, few units can lend support to about four independent displays using a separate graphics card.

Fitted with eight USB ports, the newest entrant promises to put forth a leveraged experience. The company also shares that select models accommodate an optional second hard drive, two PCI slots and an eSATA port. The offering enables users to browse with utmost ease using Gigabit Ethernet. The desktops boast of Lenovo’s ThinkVantage Technologies – Rescue and Recovery, System Update and Power Manage to help users with backing up and recovering data, updating the PC and saving energy.

Additionally, various Enhanced Experience 2.0 PCs include Lenovo’s remarkable RapidBoot technology. The unit sports various security features like USB port disablement to manually control data going in and out of a PC. Lenovo also offers Hardware Password Manager standard for seamless management of encrypted hard drives. The ThinkCentre M91p desktop incorporates a Trusted Platform Module (9TPM), a safe cryptoprocessor chip which can effortlessly manage encryption keys and processes.

The ThinkCentre M91p desktop can be snapped up beginning April via business partners and the official website for a starting price of around $899 (approx Rs. 40,504).
