New Zotac Zbox HD-ID11 mini-PC engineered around Nvidia Ion technology

Zbox HD ID11 Those looking out for a mini-PC in a compact form factor may want to consider this next product offering – Zotac has come out with the Zbox HD-ID11 mini-PC that is built around the Nvidia Ion platform and combines HD playback capabilities with the Windows 7 experience and Aero UI.

“Software companies took a big step in the last year to enable GPU-acceleration in their applications. Users can edit movies using Super LoiLoScope, enhance the quality of low-quality videos using vReveal and convert video files for use with portable media players using Badaboom with Cuda technology and our new Zotac Zbox HD-ID11 mini-PC using just the graphics processor,” cited Carsten Berger, marketing director, Zotac International. “Just because the Zotac Zbox HD-ID11 mini-PC is small in size doesn’t mean it can’t deliver big system performance.

This gizmo features Nvidia Cuda technology that supports DirectCompute and OpenCL powered applications as well as Nvidia PureVideo HD intelligence. Its Nvidia Ion graphics processor offers 16 unified shaders and 512MB of DDR3 graphics memory capacity. A 1.66GHz dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor is housed at the core of this mini-PC which hosts HDMI and dual-link DVI display options. It offers users 10/100/1000MB/s Ethernet, 802.11n integrated Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, eSATA 3.0GB/s connectivity options along with an eSATA 3.0GB/s interface.

Other mentioned specifications encompass OpenGL 3.2 compatibility, nView Multi-Display software, Nvidia PhysX ready, a 6-in-1 card reader, Adobe Flash Player 10.1 decode acceleration, xvYCC Color and Deep Color support. The audio system is supported by 7.1-channel LPCM digital audio, optical digital S/PDIF audio output and internal analog stereo high-definition audio. Users are extended 512MB DDR3 video memory, 1 x 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM slots and a 2.5” HDD for storing content.
