The newest entrant is the AMOR8210 multimedia phone from Leadtek.
This multimedia videophone has been previously launched in Taiwan by ChungHwa Telecom where it is apparently pretty successful. The AMOR8210 offers a separate set of features for home and office including a wide variety of functions that encompass several fields. These comprise of communication, entertainment, photo sharing during the call, information, health care, security surveillance, media player, 3-way video conference, as well as call and location base service (LBS) integration.
Featuring a seven-inch high-resolution touchscreen, the device’s main unit and DECT handset have been crafted with a glossy black finish. They are fitted with integrated speakers, microphones and rechargeable batteries. The built-in Wi-Fi module is incorporated in the main unit for transportable purposes. This offers Wi-Fi connectivity whereas the handset can be easily located due to the cordless DECT transmission.
The AMOR8210 proffers dual mode communication, both VOIP and PSTN. It bundles up SIP-based IP telephony including all call features, H.264 video codec and a camera with a physical shutter. The solution renders support to three-way video conference calls, enabling owners to share their photos all through the video calling period. Offering support to an answering machine, the gadget incorporates PSTN telephony availability.
The wide display lets users effortlessly access several attributes of this offering subsuming Constellation Research, Weather Surfing, Lottery and Coupons, coupled with News and Traffic Awareness. On the entertainment front, it offers functionalities like internet radio, online video entertainment, music media players, and digital photo frame.
The AMOR8210 offers medical assistance in the form of personal health data detection such as blood pressure, glucose and pulse. This information can be transferred to a medical center. It can be paired with remote surveillance systems that have video recording, alarms and emergency call auto dialing. The offering can be integrated with the LBS system to keep a track on the current location of family members that have worn the LBS Tracker.
The AMOR8210 multimedia videophone will be displayed tomorrow at the CES by Leadtek.
