With the development of 3G connectivity, accessing Internet while on the go seems to have become a real treat for users. Bringing in the 4G factor as well, Clearwire has lately announced the availability of the new Clear Modem with Wi-Fi. The modem enables blazing fast 4G services for home or small offices.
The latest device simplifies local area networking with an end-to-end wireless solution. The CLearwire 4G network touts to render average mobile download speeds of 3Mbps to 6Mbps with bursts over 10Mbps. It proffers Wi-Fi connectivity to 802.11b/g/n capable devices and supports Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista 32/64, Windows 7 32/64 and Mac OS 8 or higher.
“Now our customers can get broadband Wi-Fi internet throughout their house, with one simple device about the size of a book – and without a rat’s nest of wires. Our new Clear Modem with Wi-Fi makes it easier than ever to connect the Wi-Fi devices that customers already have at home, such as laptops and desktops, tablets, iPods, and smartphones, without needing a wired connection to the cable or phone company,†shared Mike Sievert, Chief Commercial Officer at Clearwire.
With WiMAX chipset, the Clear Modem with Wi-Fi supports 2500MHz band. Its power LED illuminates when the modem is turned on. After connecting to the Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi indicator LED lightens up. The top five LEDs of the device represent network signal strength. When five lights are on, it deciphers the strongest signal, while the weakest signal is known by one light.
The Clear Modem with Wi-Fi is now available nationwide from its official website and through retail stores plus authorized dealers. The fresh modem can be purchased for $120 (approx Rs. 5,395) or leased for $7 (approx Rs. 310) per month, while its monthly data service starts at $35 (approx Rs. 1,570).
