Bose rolls out SoundLink wireless music system

Bose SoundLink System

Music lovers can now gear up for a newly launched wireless music system by Bose. Dubbed as the SoundLink wireless music system it’s a one-piece portable speaker system. Dressed in glossy black, it enables users to play music wirelessly in and around the home from their computer.

With the launch of this new wireless music system, users who don’t wish to be at their computer while the music is being played can now breathe a sigh of relief. The system doesn’t require any software or Wi-Fi connection and has a simple setup. Users can select music from iTunes, Pandora, or any other Internet radio or music source by simply plugging the incorporated SoundLink USB key to the computer. By means of a long range wireless link that works through most walls and floors the audio streams effortlessly to the system.

This Bose creation is accompanied with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which provides further flexibility to the system. Excluding an outlet, users can easily charge by the system’s AC power supply. When the system is played at high volume or for longer time at moderate listening levels the battery provides all the power needed for up to three hours.

“Many people use a computer as their primary source for music,” commented John Roselli, category business manager for Bose Corporation. “But that convenience and experience is diminished by having to be at the computer to hear it. The Bose SoundLink system unlocks that music, streaming it almost anywhere in the home – even outside –quickly and easily.”

Whether plugged-in or working on battery power users are offered the same superior quality audio performance that is delivered with the company’s manufacturing competence in electronics and speaker design. To provide room-filling, high-class audio from a very small area the system features a proprietary acoustics package. It combines exclusive Bose waveguide speaker technology and neodymium transducers.

Users can skip tracks or play/pause from a distance with the system’s infrared remote control. Along with operating the power and volume, the remote control also sends transport control commands to most applications. The unit is also placed with touch-sensitive volume buttons. Connections to additional audio sources like iPod, iPhone, MP3 player or CD player are enabled by the systems auxiliary input.

The new SoundLink wireless music system will be out in stores by August 27, 2009. Its price is $549.95.
