Telus plans to expand its business in the mobile connectivity area. For this, it will launch the Sierra Wireless USB 598 3G modem, according to Slashgear.

This modem comes in a stick form and supports both Windows and Mac OS X computers. The modem works by allowing users to access the Telus EVDO network. The Sierra Wireless USB 598 comes with its own internal memory that holds the necessary software for the device to work.

The device is capable of installing the necessary drivers without manual intervention. The internal memory of the modem can be expanded up to 32 GB via its microSDHC slot.

The company claims to give the modem for free to consumers who are willing to sign a two or three year contract with the company. Apparently, the plans in the contract range between $25 per month for 500MB of normal use and $60 per month for 3GB usage. The device is also available for purchase without a contract for $199.99 (approx Rs.9, 910).
