Rokland Technologies Wi-Fi solution for Macs

Rokland Technologies BearExtender n3

The current digital-age thrives on Wi-Fi and instant Internet access is now made possible for Mac users with the latest BearExtender n3. This long ranged 802.11n high-powered wireless adapter for Apple Macintosh computers claims to offer four times the range of standard Apple branded AirPort wireless cards.

This Wi-Fi solution is developed jointly by a fresh Product Design graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Roland Saekow, and Jason Opdyke, head of product development at Rokland Technologies. BearExtender n3 combines 802.11n compatibility with a 700mW Wi-Fi radio and is also capable of picking up 802.11g and 802.11b signals from a distance.

“BearExtender is the product of the present and the future” added Opdyke. As more campuses upgrade to the 802.11n standard, BearExtender n3 owners will already be ahead of the curve with an 802.11n compatible wireless adapter. But it also picks up from long distances on existing G and B networks, which are more common at the present time,” mentioned Jason Opdyke, head of product development at Rokland Technologies.

The device features an external 2dBi gain antenna, bypassing interference from recent aluminum enclosures found on Macintosh notebooks and desktop computers. BearExtender n3 delivers up to four times the range of built-in Apple AirPort cards and is compatible with Macs running Mac OS X Panther, Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard, and connects using a single USB port.

The affordable BearExtender n3 Wi-Fi solutions for Mac retails for $44.97. The package is inclusive of USB metal flex cable, and installation software and manual.
