Arya Z2 hits the sweet spot with mid-range specs and entry-level price

The Arya Z2 has gone official in India and is attempting to earn itself some reputation in the affordable segment by offering a good slice of features at a very affordable price. The phone is tagged at Rs 6999 and it packs mid-range hardware like a quad core processor and an HD display amongst others.

Arya is a subsidy of Salora International Limited and is new to the budget market in India. Its first smartphone isn’t the most attractive, but is quite alluring thanks to its 7.55mm slim design and grey matte finish.

One of the key selling points of the Arya Z2 is that it offers Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and flaunts a 5-inch 720p HD IPS touchscreen on the front. For the amount being asked, the phone also packs an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video capture and a 2MP front snapper for taking selfies. And if these aren’t enough, you also get a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor with Mali 400 graphics.

The chipset is accompanied by an entire gigabyte of RAM, while storage is in the hands of 4GB flash memory and a 32GB compliant microSD card slot. Like the majority of budget phone, this one also offers dual SIM support and it has 3G connectivity as well. Lastly, you can expect up to 8 hours of talk time on a single charge of the 1800mAh battery.
