The Micromax Funbook P600 has been launched online and it can be picked up through means of monthly installments which amount to a full price of Rs. 9,499.
Joining the bandwagon of affordable tablets, the device is the latest budget slate offered by the company. It consists of a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch screen. However, no details regarding the resolution have been revealed. As for the OS, the maker has chosen Ice Cream Sandwich and has incorporated a Qualcomm MSM8225A SOC which packs in a 1GHz dual core ARM Cortex A5 processor.
In terms of hoarding capacity, the device sets apart a flash memory of 2GB for storage and it’s accompanied by 512MB of RAM. The space can be extended up to 32GB via an external microSD card. The battery would allow a browsing time of 4 hours or a standby time of 224 hours, its exact capacity, though, hasn’t been divulged as yet. Connectivity is enabled through Wireless LAN and 3G, but what disappoints is that no support for Bluetooth has been mentioned. The slate is easy to carry around, tipping the scales at just 370 grams and measuring 119.5mm x 193.5mm x 11.5mm in dimensions.
The device seems to have similar specifications to the P350 slab which was launched in October last year. Both tablets support voice calling and even the previous version was enabled for 3G via an external dongle. While the manufacturer has affixed the latest slate with a 2MP main camera as well as a snapper on the front panel, the older device was granted with just a 0.3MP one. However, it does permit connectivity through Bluetooth. In other news, the recently released A116 Canvas HD had sold out within days of its launch and the company is now allowing buyers to pre-order it online.
The Micromax Funbook P600 is available for the aforementioned amount through Snapdeal. The website mentions that the device would be delivered within 5 business days. Other retailers are not selling the tablet as of now.
