New iPad shipping date pushed to March 19 in the U.S.

New iPad 01

It seems like the first batch of the new iPad that went up for pre-order online has already been sold out as the company has pushed the shipping date to March 19 for subsequent orders in the U.S. Only yesterday, we reported that the Apple slate is all set to be dispatched starting March 16.

The slipped shipping date was first spotted by The Next Web, who reports that initially, the iPads meant for the UK were sold out and they are now expected to arrive at customers’ doorsteps in about 2 – 3 weeks. As is believed, the fruity giant saves a large number of iDevices to be sold through its actual retail outlets and this could be the reason why the online batch was sold out quickly.
