Lenovo is among the first few companies who have managed to integrate the Ice Cream Sandwich platform in their tablets and the Lenovo IdeaTab S2 has been deployed with this OS. Along with the tablet, the company has also announced its Personal Cloud vision at the CES.

Boasting of an extremely slim chassis, the S2 tab is thinner than most previously released Lenovo tablets. The lightweight 10-inch slate tips the scale at a little more than 1lbs, while it comes encased in a form factor that is just about 1/3-inch thick. It acquires its multitasking properties from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual core processor. And as mentioned above, this slate binges on the latest Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform which should deliver an enhanced multimedia experience.

“Lenovo is breaking down the barriers of device differentiation and weaving together hardware, software and cloud services that are connected, experiential and dynamic. We understand our users need more than just the traditional keyboard and screen for a truly satisfying digital experience. Our Personal Cloud vision integrates all devices, from tablets to TVs, for a comprehensive mobile Internet experience anytime, anywhere,” stated Liu Jun, senior vice president and president, Mobile Internet and Digital Home business group.

Along with Android, the Lenovo IdeaTab S2 is also included with the Lenovo Mondrian UI that is said to bestow the tab with a user friendly interface. Besides displaying customized content, this device can offer access to both the Android Market as well as the Lenovo App Shop to browse through thousands of applications. Additionally, this slate is compatible with a light keyboard dock and can cough up the juice for up to 20 hours at a stretch when combined with the docking station.

The Lenovo IdeaTab S2 is available in China and slated to be released at a later date around the globe. The pricing details have not been mentioned.
