Expanding its collection of tablets, Archos Arnova has announced the newest member in this tablet family to be the Arnova 9 G2. Liliputing reports that this mobile device is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 single core processor and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

The Archos tablet joins its counterparts of the Arnova series namely, the Arnova 7 G2, 7c G2, 8 G2 and 10G2. It comes embedded with a 9.7-inch1024 x 768 HD 4:3 format capacitive 5 point multitouch screen, TFT LCD touchscreen featuring IPS technology. The device is integrated with 8GB of internal memory which is capable of being expanded up to 32GB through the microSD slot. An interesting feature of the multitouch keyboard is that users can capitalize their text by using the shift key instead of toggling between caps and lowercase, as observed in most other tablets.

Measuring 239mm x 184mm x 12.5mm, this tablet is equipped with a front camera as well two in-built speakers. It allows users to enjoy HD videos in 1080p and access the wide world of Android Market that offers more than 250,000 apps. Weighing 630g, the tablet is capable of lending support to various audio and picture formats including MP3, WAV, APE, OGG, FLAC, JPEG, BMP, GIF and PNG.

Offering support for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, the 9 G2 tablet features a USB 2.0 slot and can be powered by a 9V/2A power adapter. The feature-packed tablet is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Mac OS or Linux in mass storage mode and Vista 7 or higher. Furthermore, it is equipped with a microphone, a G-sensor and a slot for a 3.5mm audio jack.

Engadget has an update revealing the Archos Arnova 9 G2 Android tablet price to be €249 (approx. Rs. 17,300) on the Amazon Germany page.
