Coby Internet Tablets

A range of five Coby Internet tablets that includes MID7042, MID8042, MID9042, MID9742 and MID1042, is slated to be made available in the first quarter of next year. Coby will slide the covers of these Android Ice Cream Sandwich powered tablets at the CES, to be held in January 2012.

The five internet tabs in this portfolio are incorporated with similar hardware, but their capacitive touchscreen sizes vary. The MID7042 variant dons a 7-inch screen, while the MID9042 and MID1042 tablets come in display sizes of 9 and 10 inches, respectively. The multi-touch screens of 8-inch MID8042 and 9.7-inch MID9742 slabs are said to have an aspect ratio 4:3.

“Coby is thrilled to announce our premiere range of feature-packed Android 4.0-powered Internet tablets that will put the world in consumers’ hands as never before. We also are proud to be among the first companies to make available a wide range of the newest, Ice Cream Sandwich-operated units, helping to further underscore our commitment to meeting the demands of a broad base of consumers with innovative products in the hottest CE categories,” stated Jodi Sally, Vice President of Marketing, Coby Electronics.

All the Coby Internet tablets draw power from the ARM Cortex A8 CPU that runs at a processing speed of 1GHz in addition to 1GB RAM. The Coby devices claim to offer faster wireless web browsing besides an enhanced gaming experience. The internal memory of these slabs can be increased with the help of microSD cards of capacities up to 32GB. The Wi-Fi enabled tabs also sport HDMI connector to project their content on big screen HDTVs.

The Coby Internet tablets prices have not been revealed by the company.
