Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition slip out

Following the popularity of the Motorola Xoom, the company has launched two new tablets in the form of the Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition in UK and Ireland. Both the new devices run on Android 3.2 and are preloaded with the MotoCast app that allows users to stream their media content such as music, photos, videos and documents from a computer to the tablets wirelessly.

Equipped with support for Wi-Fi, the Xoom 2 features a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display and is compatible with the optional Motorola Stylus for note-taking, hand-writing emails and sketching. It offers users various functionalities apt for businesses such as VPN support and data encryption. The device has Motoprint integrated into the main apps for enabling smooth and wireless printing right from the tablet.

Victoria McManus, marketing director UK & Ireland, Motorola Mobility stated, “Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road. We are very excited about these two new additions to our tablet portfolio that build on the success of the original Motorola XOOM to now deliver more powerful tablet experiences to the European market.”

The Xoom 2 Media Edition is equipped with an 8.2-inch display and features a wide 178-degree viewing angle. It apparently comes with 20 percent enhancement in graphics performance over its predecessor, the Motorola Xoom, offering better gaming, adaptive virtual surround sound with booming bass and speedier multitasking.

The Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition tablets are expected to be available soon through retailers like Carphone Warehouse in the UK and Ireland as also Best Buy, Dixons, PC World and Currys in the UK. Details regarding their prices have not yet been disclosed.
