Modbook, World’s First Mac-based Tablet showcased by Axiotron

Axiotron Modbook

A few days ago we reported about the revolutionary ModBook Mac-based Tablet PC from Axiotron. Now, the company actually showcased it at Macworld 2008 and it was really well-received there. It’s no wonder because the Modbook happens to be the world’s first tablet computer to run on the Mac operating system.

The slate-style Modbook tablet has a Wacom pen-enabled display which offers 512 levels of pen pressure sensitivity.

It has a widescreen display of 13.3” which offers users a much wider viewing angle and a higher contrast ratio.

The Modbook has a very strong exterior made from magnesium alloy. Moreover, since it is coated with a triple layer of metal plating, the exterior is pretty much scratch-resistant. It also feels nice to hold.

The Axiotron Modbook comes standard with a built-in iSight camera and GPS. IT comes with an Axiotron Digitizer Pen that features two programmable side buttons and a digital eraser too. Plus, you get three types of pen tips.

If you happen to place an order for the Macbook before February 29, 2008 you will get an extra Axiotron Digitizer Pen and replaceable tips. The price of the Modbook begins at $2,290 and comes with a one-year limited warranty.
