Fujitsu Lifebook U810 UMPC

The era of laptop seems to be gone. Now big names in laptop industry seem to be concentrating on ultra portable PCs. Fujitsu has unveiled its UMPC called Lifebook U810.

The U810 is based on the Ultra Mobile platform 2007 and is further equipped with: 800MHz Intel A110 processor, 945GU Express Chipset, 1GB DDR2 RAM, WSVGA display sporting 1024 x 600 resolution, 40GB 4200rpm hard drive, Bluetooth, fingerprint reader, 0.3 mega pixel (640 x 480) webcam, a/b/g wireless, docking cradle, and Vista/XP Tablet PC Edition 2005.

Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems said, “The LifeBook U810 convertible has a familiar form factor and all the power of a standard notebook in a 1.5 pound package. It is one of the only products to provide notebook and tablet functionality in this class” .

Adding, “Mobile professionals and consumers who desire the ultimate in mobility shouldn’t settle for devices that provide only limited functionality when they can have a fully functioning laptop with the LifeBook U810 convertible notebook.”

Fujitsu’s new miniature is equipped with 5.6-inch LED backlit display and weighs just 1.56 pounds.

To maintain security, the U810 features two-level BIO lock, along with a fingerprint sensor for encrypting sensitive files with a finger swipe.

Fujitsu Lifebook U810 is available in the US market at the price of $999 (approx Rs. 39,640).
