Silicon Power bounces back in India with the successor to its previously launched V20 SSD – the SP Velox series V30 SATA III solid state drive. Boasting of a speed of 6Gbps, this SSD is backward compatible with SATA II interface and claims to be equally suitable for gamers and professionals.
The V30 SSD utilizes the SandForce controller chip and offers read and write speed of 550MB/sec and 500MB/sec, respectively. With support for TRIM command and Garbage Collection technology, the SSD continues to remain efficient for a longer period of time.
Equipped with the SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting Technology) monitoring system to allow consumers to verify the status, the Silicon Power Velox keeps the power consumption low. Besides undergoing tests like 20G and 1500G max for resistance to vibration and shock, the storage device operates noiselessly. The drive weighs 70 grams and measures 100mm x 69.85mm x 9.4mm.
The solid state drive employs technologies such as the DuraWrite and 3-5K cycle MLC flash to provide improved durability and stability. The ECC (Error Checking and Correction) technology corrects errors to ensure accuracy to make the SSD reliable. Also, this drive comes with a 3.5-inch adapter to facilitate installation of the drive.
The Silicon Power Velox series V30 solid state drive of capacity 60GB and 120GB are priced at Rs.6,730 and Rs. 10,240, respectively. Backed by a three year warranty, the SSD is also available in variants of 240GB and 480GB.
