Patriot moves in with Supersonic USB 3.0 flash drives

The company has announced its Supersonic USB 3.0 flash drive series with a native single-chip USB 3.0 controller.

Featuring the enthralling Quad-Channel technology, the newest offering renders unrivaled performance is a compact form factor. Besides, the device lowers several issues that crop up when using a separate USB 3.0 bridge chip simply by incorporating a native 3.0 flash memory controller.

“Patriot is one of the first companies to integrate a native single-chip USB 3.0 flash memory controller. By pairing the controller with our Quad-Channel technology, we’re able to maximize performance with the Supersonic series,” commented Les Henry, Patriot Memory’s Vice President of Engineering. “We are able to shrink the physical size of the USB 3.0 flash drives for even greater portability.”

The solution comes along with aluminum housing, thereby making the Supersonic series highly portable. The enclosure touts to offer exceptional performance and durability with shock resistance up to 15Gs. These drives support read speeds up to 100MB/s and write speeds up to 70MB/s.

The 32GB and 64GB flash drives are anticipated to hit shelves early Q1, 2011.
