WD My Book World Edition II network storage system

My Book World Edition II WD has announced the launch of the redesigned My Book World Edition II. These dual-drive network storage systems are available in storage capacities up to 4TB. For data protection, the system includes two Mirrored RAID 1 drives and continuous backup software. This storage system enables users to take a back up of all the computers on the network and store it at a single location.

The My Book World Edition II automatically takes a back up of the user’s data. The dual-drive of this storage system ensures data safety in the event of drive failure. The software which the system incorporates simplifies the setup. The WD network storage system presently ships in Mirrored mode and utilizes half of the capacity for file redundancy.

The system can be used as a shared digital media library, thanks to its media server capabilities and faster transfer speeds. The My Book World Edition II also supports DLNA media player like TVs, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation3 game consoles and wireless digital pictures frames. To support these players the system uses integrated UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) media server and iTunes Music server software. The MioNet remote access service allows users to access the storage system from virtually anywhere.

The new My Book World Edition II network storage systems are presently available in 2TB and 4TB storage capacities. These systems are priced at Rs. 24,000 and Rs. 42,000 respectively. Backed by a three year limited warranty, these storage systems can be purchased from WD’s online store.
