The digital SLR cameras have shifted their preference from the larger CompactFlash cards to the smaller microSD/SDHC card. Complementing this technology change, PhotoSmart has announced the availability of the CR-7100 microSD/SDHC card adapter, reports Engadget.
This product has been designed for DSLRs with CompactFlash slot. This adapter provides interoperability between microSD/SDHC and CompactFlash cards. The CR-7100 allows photographers to use microSD cards with their existing DSLRs rather than buying a completely new camera.
The adapter supports up to 16GB microSD/SDHC cards. These were compatible only with cell phones until now. It is capable of delivering the full potential of the card that it uses.
The PhotoSmart CR-7100 adapter is presently available in Japan for a price of ¥2,980 (approx. Rs.1,505). The CR-7100 may soon make its debut in Europe and the US.
