Seagate has announced its new BlackArmor 400 series network-attached storage range. This complete portfolio of products has been designed to protect your data and ensure optimum uptime. This new Seagate BlackArmor product line consists of a suite of network-attached, workstation and portable storage solutions. The BlackArmor storage solutions are quite simple and can be easily installed as well as managed. Additionally, it offers software management tools which are compatible with all its products, thus it ensures sustained performance with minimum support and no additional support required.

Talking about the new range, Seagate has announced the first two products called BlackArmor NAS 440 and BlackArmor NAS 420 servers that help you centralize as well as secure your important documents. The four-bay NAS device features several Seagate disk drives. The BlackArmor NAS 420 is equipped with two drives in its four drive chassis while the NAS 440 is populated with four drives. The BlackArmor NAS 440 features up to8TB maximum capacity. On the other hand, the NAS 420 comes with about 2TB of capacity.

Seagate BlackArmor NAS 440 and Seagate BlackArmor NAS 420 network storage servers operate securely while keeping your data safe.

It is easy to use with an on-board LCD Screen that displays the settings and status. It will continuously and automatically back-up your precious and critical on up to 50 networked computers with full-system backup and RAID options.

This storage solution combines several other features like entire volume encryption with intuitive software management with password protection and encryption, recovery CD against hardware failures, two to four drive configuration with two, four, six and eight terabytes, easily accessible with an Internet browser. Both network storage servers come with hot swappable, user-serviceable drives and RAID options. Adding to your convenience are the four USB ports. The products are backed by three years of warranty. These servers support Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later.

The BlackArmor NAS 420 network server with a four-bay, two drive configuration is priced at $799.99 for 2 TB. The 4TB, 6TB and 8TB BlackArmor NAS 440 network servers with four-bays and four drives are priced at $1,199.99, $1,699.99 USD and $1,999.99 respectively. They are expected to be available in May.
