Transcend launches SSD250D with DRAM cache in India

Transcend SSD250D SSD Transcend has announced the availability of its latest solid state drive termed the SSD250D. This 2.5-inch SSD is a SATA II drive that comes equipped with a 64MB of DRAM cache. The drive promises to offer durability and reliability along with power saving features.

It renders the computer more responsive, boots it up faster and even launches application in a relatively less amount of time. The increased speed of the drive makes it an ideal upgrade for high-end gaming systems and workstations. Moreover, it is also compatible with the Windows 7 platform.

Austin Huang, Regional Head – Sales, SAARC & APAC, Transcend, said, “Thanks to its advanced solid-state technology, Transcend’s SSD25D far outperforms standard 2.5″ hard drives. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the delivery of extraordinary sustained transfer speeds of up to 230MB/s read and 180MB/s write to guarantee blazing fast throughput, regardless of file size or type.”

The SSD250D is capable of tolerating excess vibrations, heat or shock. All thanks to the NAND flash memory that contains no moving parts, this rugged drive maintains cool and silent operation. The Error Correction Code ensures accurate data transfer while built-in wear leveling technology delivers consistent and long operational life.

This drive features an industry standard 3.0Gbps SATA II interface and is compatible with majority of the notebooks and desktops available in the market. The drive claims to deliver a longer battery life as it consumes a relatively less amount of energy.

The Transcend SSD250D drive will be made available in 60GB and 120GB storage capacities along with a 2 year warranty. The 60GB drive is priced at Rs. 18,000 while the 120GB drive costs Rs. 31,000. These drives will be made available in India via Redington, Supertron, Mediaman and Luminous Technologies.
