LG has rolled out a new hard drive entitled XF1, reports Engadget. The 500GB external hard drive comes with a flashy color shifting case. The drive incorporates USB interface and HDMI output port.
The HDMI output port that this drive incorporates enables users to stream high definition content straight to the TV sets. The drive is capable of supporting up to 1080i of high definition content. It supports USB 2.0 connection.
Apart from this, the drive also supports video formats like AVI, Xvid and a wide range of MPEGs. It also supports all popular sound formats. However, the drive does not offer support for H.264 and MKV codecs.
It closely resembles the functionalities of Iomega’s 500GB ScreenPlay. The only difference is that it features a slimmer case that measures only 20.8mm in thickness.
The pricing and availability details of the LG XF1 are yet to be disclosed.
