Seagate FreeAgent Family of Data Movers launched in India

Seagate Technology has unveiled FreeAgent family of data movers in India. The FreeAgent data movers are good examples of sophisticated and elegant design combined with user-friendly features.

Rajesh Khurana, Seagate’s country manager for India and SAARC countries said “With the FreeAgent family of data movers, Seagate is moving beyond traditional storage. It’s literally about being able to escape the confines of your desktop or your laptop, and have your content available to you where you need and when you need it.”

Seagate FreeaAgent family consists of three products: FreeAgent Pro, FreeAgent Go and FreeAgent Desktop.

FreeAgent Pro combines desktop with online solutions and is meant especially for the creative professionals. The Pro allows users to access content from anywhere and share it with anyone. Users can also transfer content to iPods, flash drives etc. The Seagate Pro includes an interchangeable modular interface system offering a combo USB 2.0 as well as eSATA interface (standard), or dual FireWire 400 ports for easy connection to various computing devices. Besides FreeAgent Pro provides users their own private Seagate Internet Drive, an online solution to post, access and share files “24/7 ATM” anywhere via web. The Internet Drive is made safer by protecting it by a password. FreeAgnet will cost Rs. 9,200 (320 GB), Rs. 13,750 (500 GB) and Rs. 18,400 (750 GB) for the standard combo module, and Rs. 10,900 (320 GB), Rs. 14,500 (500 GB) and Rs. 19,700 (750 GB) for the dual FireWire 400 version.

Seagate FreeAgent Go is designed considering needs of the college goers, students, mobile consumers and business professionals. FreeAgent Go allows users to carry their desktop in their palms. Not only can users store, protect and synchronize files between PCs but they can also carry their computing environment with them, including Web favorites, passwords and settings, IM, email, contacts and digital files. Using the FreeAgent is as easy as plugging in it into USB 2.0 port and users can experience personal computing anywhere. Even the private information can be stored in it as these data movers do not leave trace on host computer after unplugging them. No web history, neither passwords, nor files are left in host computer. File encryption option provided for additional data security allows running more than 100 free and pay-to-use applications on any PC without installing or storing programs on borrowed computers. This small but smart data mover is priced at 5,980 (80 GB), Rs. 7,700 (120 GB) and Rs. 9,200 (160 GB).

And finally the last one is the FreeAgent Desktop, which Seagate has designed for the users who like to store their collection of digital treasure such as photos, movies, music, games and documents etc. These users range in various categories from corporate, professionals to prosumers and students. The FreeAgent Desktops are compatible to both PCs and Macs with a USB 2.0 interface. Cost of the Seagate FreeAgent Desktop is Rs. 7,500 (250 GB), Rs. 8,500 (320 GB) and Rs. 13,000 (500 GB).
