LaCie has planned to roll out a new line of 2big hard disk drives, namely the 2big Dual, 2big Triple and 2big Network.
Offered in the ranges of 1TB to 2TB of storage capacity, it also features the latest ‘thermoregulated progressive smart fan’ to keep things cool and quiet. In addition, it has a USB 2.0 port.
The 2Big Dual sports eSATA II, whereas the 2Big Triple provides FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 connectors and the 2Big Network is an Ethernet version that can act as a file sharing or backup server. However, the 2big Network will not feature a USB 2.0 port.
Moreover, all the models carry a programmable front button that will cue a preferred backup utility or other program. You will also find EMC’s Retrospect Express that provides an automated backup process to both Mac and Windows PC user.
The latest hard disk drives from LaCie are expected to be available this month with the price starting from $399 and jumps up to $940 (approx. Rs. 16,000 – 37,600). The price will obviously vary depending on the storage capacity and the connectivity options.
