Inside Secure and Intel have entered into a licensing deal wherein the former will be seen providing NFC products and technologies to the latter. While NFC technology has to still find a firm footing in techville, the agreement between Inside Secure and Intel may help integrate the feature into digital products on a larger scale.

The development of future Intel products will see the incorporation of the other party’s software and hardware technology to give NFC-enabled gadgets a boost. NFC technology has recently been seen receiving support from a couple of mobile manufacturers and now with Intel coming into the picture, we may probably witness future laptops complete with this additional spec.

“NFC is gaining traction in many markets as one of the most convenient ways to use consumer electronic devices for payments and retail commerce transactions, for access to facilities and information, and a host of other applications,” states Aicha Evans, vice-president and general manager of Intel’s Mobile Wireless Group. “We look forward to working with Inside to develop and bring to market a range of exciting connectivity solutions for mainstream consumer products that incorporate NFC features.”

Inside Secure’s MicroRead NFC controller apparently proffers an array of NFC options. Additionally, it is said to possess the capacity which allows gadgets with SIM, SE or SD cards to support multiple business models. SecuRead, another product coming out of the company’s stable, integrates the MicroRead NFC controller. Plus, it also boasts of a GlobalPlatform-compliant Java Card OS.

The Inside Secure and Intel agreement is obviously set to bring NFC to a wider proportion of the population, clearly an indicator of the future of such a technology trend.
