Alesis QX49 Keyboard Controller

The technological realm is inundated with enthusiasts from varying backgrounds including music. To satiate the needs of people from this group, Alesis recently unveiled its new QX49 USB/MIDI keyboard controller at the 2011 NAMM show. During the event, the company highlighted distinct features and functionality of this device.

Featuring a range of assignable controls, this offering has been plugged to work with a variety of music software and MIDI hardware devices. Its integrated eight sliders and rotary knobs engineer a seamless performance with four backlit drum pads as well as dedicated transport controls. This makes it possible for users to execute numerous activities like mixing fire drum samples and modifying the scale of an individual vocal track.

This controller stretches out an array of other controls as well such as pitch and modulation wheels along with octave up/down buttons. The company has also devised it with the capability of transmitting program changes directly from the keys. Additionally, users can split its keyboard into differing sections for simultaneously working with multiple instruments.

“Alesis has a long tradition in keyboards and continue to offer the tools musicians need to make music the way they like,” commented Adam Cohen, Director of Marketing & Business Development, Alesis. “QX49 is compact, affordable and easy to use with the software and hardware musicians use today.”

Implanted with two conventional MIDI jacks, the device boasts of simple and smooth connectivity. From the two MIDI ports, one can be employed for transferring MIDI content while the other is said to help route this data from a computing system. Music composers can take complete control of their production software as the QX49 comes with a standard USB as well as USB-MIDI connection. To power the device, users will need to connect it through this USB port either to a computer or use a wall power adapter. Lastly, it has been enclosed in a portable form and sports a footswitch input on the back panel.

The QX49 keyboard controller has been packed with a free copy of Ableton Live Lite Alesis Edition software for extending lucid documentation and arrangement of music. We’ve not heard about its official pricing and availability details yet.
