The latest entrant in the solid state drive market is the Kingston HyperX SSD which has been developed keeping gamers, enthusiasts and performance users in mind. It is supposedly the first SATA Rev. 3.0 6Gb/s solid-state drive.

It is available in 120GB and 240GB standalone versions which include a HyperX branded 2.5 to 3.5-inch desktop mounting plate. They also come in the form of a bundle with the HyperX upgrade kit for easy installation and consist of Acronis true image HD migration software, a desktop mounting plate, external drive bay, multi-head screwdriver and SATA data cable.

This 2.5-inch drive features the new SandForce SF-2281 controller and Intel 25nm compute NAND (P/E 5K). It supports TRIM and provides maximum read and write speeds of up to 555MB/s and 510MB/s respectively. The device possesses up to 4KB random read and write of 95,000 and 70,000 IOPS.

The 120GB and 240GB standalone versions of the Kingston HyperX SSD are priced at $ 269.99 (Rs. 11,977) and $ 519.99(Rs. 23,071) respectively. The 120GB bundle kit comes at a price of $ 284.99(Rs. 12,644), while the 240GB one can be purchased for a price of $ 539.99(Rs. 23,958).
