AT&T unfurls new Zero Draw Mobile Charger

ATT Zero Charger

Someone said it right – ‘Be an energy miser, use electricity wiser’! Realizing that electricity is an essential utility for civilized human life, manufacturers are endeavoring to ‘go-green’ day in, day out. Contributing to it, AT&T has recently announced a new automatic Zero Draw Charger for mobile phone users.

Designed to go easy on electricity, the new Zero Charger does not waste power when left plugged in, and improves charging efficiency when powering a device. The new offering features a ‘block and cable’ design for maximum interchangeability – allowing consumers to use the same charger for future handsets, cut the number of chargers produced, thus reducing future landfill waste.

“In an effort to provide environmentally friendly and simpler solutions for our customers, AT&T worked hand in hand with Superior Communications to create the first practical and user-friendly zero-draw charger for mobile phones. With the size of AT&T’s customer base, providing solutions like these helps our customers make a big difference,” explained Carlton Hill, vice president of Devices and Product Development for AT&T’s wireless operations.

The Zero Charger works by automatically sensing when a mobile phone is not plugged up to the charger and cutting the power supply from the wall socket. The device will be sold in packaging with 100 percent recycled paper.

The new AT&T Zero Charger is expected to be available at AT&T stores nationwide in May. The pricing details are yet to be announced.
