TRENDnet 300Mbps Concurrent Dual Band Wireless N Gigabit Router

TRENDnet N Gigabit Router Delving to offer unrivaled wireless speed, coverage and reliability, TRENDnet puts to fore its new high performance 300Mbps Concurrent Dual Band Wireless N Gigabit Router (model TEW-673GRU).

Utilizing 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio frequencies, the Concurrent Dual Band technology transmits two distinguished wireless networks simultaneously.

Users can create an advanced hybrid network and wireless clients can be assigned to either of the frequencies. Several wireless networks operate on the 2.4GHz radio frequency which is also shared with cordless phones, cellular phones, microwaves, and Bluetooth enabled devices.

Wireless performance can degrade due to the crowded nature of the 2.4GHz frequency. However, Dual Band technology lets users connect low-bandwidth clients to the more congested 2.4GHz frequency and high-bandwidth applications.

“TRENDnet announced an earlier version of this router last year,” stated Zak Wood, Director of Global Marketing for TRENDnet. “However, the product launch was delayed in order to integrate a cool full color LCD management interface and two USB ports. The delay was well worth the wait, and we look forward to sending this high performance, feature rich router out for review.”

TRENDnet’s TEW-673GRU uses Atheros’ XSPAN AR9002AP platform which comprises AR9220 and AR9223 XSPAN dual-band radio chipset. The platform offers Atheros’ 680MHz AR7161 wireless network processor and Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The color LCD management interface offers real time performance, security, and device information eliminating the need for the user to login to the router. Sharing content is made simpler with the two USB ports while Gigabit Ethernet ports bring in utmost wired throughput performance. Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna technology lowers wireless dead spots, enhanced wireless encryption safeguards digital content while WMM Quality of Service (QoS) technology elevates gaming experience.

The incorporated GREENnet technology minimizes port-based power consumption by up to 70 percent while the power adapter is Energy Star Certified and reduces energy consumption by an extra 30 percent.

The 300Mbps Concurrent Dual Band Wireless N Gigabit Router (model TEW-673GRU) is priced at US$149.99 (approx Rs. 6,869) and will be available through online and retail partners in February.
