Plustek announces the availability of the latest versatile scanner in India, dubbed the SmartOffice PL2546.
Aimed at government offices, institutions, enterprises and distributed branch offices, the feature-rich scanner enables users to scan, edit, store, manage and share documents with the help of the available software. By using the NewSoft Presto! Image Folio document management software, users can easily scan documents and convert them into searchable PDF format for further easy reference.
With the help of an automatic document feeder (ADF), Plustek PL2546 has the ability to stock up to 50 sheets at a time and has a heavy duty cycle of up to 1500 sheets per day. It can scan 25 pages per minute or 46 images per minute in colour, duplex mode and deliver high resolution (flatbed, 1200 x 1200 dpi optical resolution), thanks to Plustek’s advanced CIS sensor technology. Moreover, users can even scan in black and white mode. The printer can also scan documents that are up to 2.1 mm thick, including driving licenses, credit/debit cards and photo identity cards amongst others.

It can even be synchronised between various access devices such as PCs and PDAs.
Additionally, the Plustek SmartOffice PL2546 also comes equipped with improved TWAIN driver that allows the scanner to work as an electronic photocopier. Users can copy the scanned documents in a flash and even print through laser printer. It makes use of the auto detector function for auto preview of the scan.
Besides, the included ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint Plus OCR (optical character recognition) software allows the scanner to save the files in their preferred format. It also recognizes paper documents, PDF files and all popular image file formats.
