Novatel Wireless recently launched the MiFi 2372 HSPA, the latest version of its Intelligent Mobile Hotspot. The device is designed for global usage and features multi-mode operation capability, incorporating HSPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS.
The MiFi series of Intelligent Mobile Hotspots adds a new dimension to personal broadband connectivity. The 2372 HSPA goes one step ahead and offers mobile access to new services, applications management and personalization, along with providing accessibility to connected devices.

Analogous to the other models of the MiFi series the 2372 creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity. The connection can be shared among several users and Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices, smartphones and portable multimedia players. The device provides data transmission speed of up to 7.2Mbps downlink and 5.76Mbps uplink. Users can access high-speed Internet from any place where a cellular connection is available.
Equipped with Novatel’s proprietary NovaSpeed technology, the device facilitates improved video performance, online gaming, concurrent uploads and downloads and large file transmissions with least interruption or buffering.
The MiFi 2372 comes with a robust on-board applications processor which supports rich software applications and media. The internal ROM storage, 16GB of expandable microSD memory coupled with on-board GPS features, makes 2372 a flexible and sturdy platform. Thus, the device is capable of operating a range of location-based applications.
Novatel offers software interfaces to the developer community which assists the developers to leverage the embedded processing capabilities of MiFi. MiFi applications’ programming interfaces and programmer guide can be downloaded from the Novatel Developer’s Lounge.
