Alesis DM6 kit

Drummers and aspirants who want price-worthy instruments ought to take note of Alesis’ latest electronic DM6 drumming kit. The company claims to be shipping out the kit to customers at ‘modest-in-its-class’ prices.

The set is characterized by a 108 quality drum, percussion and cymbal tone generator. The equipment’s distinctive cymbal and rubber drum pads is crafted to lower vibration levels. Snare drum and cowbell, or rimshot sounds can be dialed from the center and the rim respectively. Alesis has also thrown in bass drum pedals, hi-hat pedals and the inescapable drumsticks, of course. Additional pads like the upright kick drum pad, hi-hat, three tom pads and crash and ride cymbal pads have also been added to the kit.

“This drum set brings a new level of performance, feel and sound to its price class,” explained Jim Norman, Product Manager, Alesis. “The combination of the great quality of sounds, the play-along tracks, the metronome, the input for your iPod and the feel of the pads all together make the DM6 Kit a serious instrument.”

DM6 can be MIDI synchronized to work in harmony with drum-module programs including Toontrack, BFD and so on. A customized range of sounds can be edited and saved on this kit. The option of practicing quietly is open with headsets. On the other hand, the drum kit can be connected to an amplifier for a loud acoustic performance or else, to iPods and CD players for music inputs. Play-along music tracks, a metronome and a sequencer add to the novelty of this drum set.

The product is sold with a resilient aluminum rack, hardware and cables for setting up. The DM6 is sold at all music equipment and audio dealers at $699 (approx. Rs.33,513) in the US and has a list price of $499 (approx. Rs.23,924).
