Fujitsu unveils two new ScanSnap scanning solutions in the form of the ScanSnap S1500 for PC and ScanSnap S1500M for Mac. Sporting a sleeker design, they offer ease-of-use as their predecessors along with additional productivity, advanced intelligent technology, faster scanning speeds and a new software interface.
The new ScanSnap S1500 and S1500M claim to make scanning intuitive and easier. Scan a variety of documents without any hassles of adjusting the scanner settings while a touch of a button converts several papers into digital images automatically by selecting the page size, orientation, color setting etc.
Based on ultrasonic technology, the scanners also feature a new intelligent paper feed detection that senses multi-feeds and provides additional layer of security. Adding to your advantage is its new automatic image quality adjustment feature that not only evaluates the document size but also adjusts the resolution. This is beneficial for small images or text in business cards as well as small receipts. With speeds up to 20 pages per minute (ppm) or 40 images per minute (ipm), the new ScanSnap Manager and Quick Menu further add to your convenience.
Inline with the amazing ScanSnap features, the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 for PC also packs in Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, new versions of ScanSnap Organizer and CardMinder software.
The ScanSnap Organizer 4.0 simplifies the usage, management and productivity of PDF scanning with its innovative features such as drag and drop customizable keywords, standard highlighter pen automatically embeds searchable keywords directly into files and advanced cropping operations. It lets you easily manage all your business contacts as the S1500’s CardMinder business card software 4.0 makes business card scanning more versatile.
The S1500M supports Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger and Intel or PowerPC based computers and bundles up Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and Cardiris Business Card software. It easily scans business cards into editable data that can be saved as text, HTML and vCard file formats.
Digitizing your paper-based rolodex and updating content of electronic address book directly to your favorite management applications is just a few clicks away. Additionally, the ScanSnap Manager for Mac converts highlighted text into searchable PDF keywords with its new auto keyword feature.
The Fujitsu ScanSnap also packs in one button searchable PDF, PDF and JPEG scanning, dual 600dpi color CCD optical scanning array, automatic detection of color, grayscale, paper size and blank page, supports USB 2.0 support and is compliant with ENERGY STAR and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 and ScanSnap S1500M are pieced at $495 each and will be available through Fujitsu’s website and authorized resellers.
