Yamaha unfurls MCR-140 iPod dock

Yamaha iPod Dock

iPod Docks prove to be a great way out for charging an iPod and simultaneously listening to tunes. The glitch is that since they are not always handy, one does not really stay in control of the playlist. Yamaha has now apparently found a way out of this dilemma with its newest offering. Yamaha has introduced the MCR-140 iPod dock, reports Gizmodo.

With this latest MCR-140 dock one can listen and control their music through the iPod itself by simply snapping the iPod into a tiny module and the music will get aired wirelessly through Yamaha’s own ‘uncompressed’ wireless technology. This dock can be placed around 30-50 feet away.

The music through this dock travels in 2.4GHz and uses proprietor bit rates. There is no clarification on whether this stream would be affected by Bluetooth or Wi-Fi transmission.

This iPod dock has a true retro look and comes housed in a durable metal chassis. The device offers 10 colors namely orange, dark blue, light blue, white, red dark green, brown, light gray, dark gray and pink.

Yamaha also provides the MCR-040 which unlike the MCR-140 will have wires. The MCR-040 can be availed for a price of $280 (approx Rs 13,564), while the wireless step-up MCR-140 has been priced at $400 (approx Rs. 19,378).
