LaCie rolls out a latest peripheral that bridges the gap between a storage device and a media player. Called the LaCinema Classic Bridge, it boasts off the ability to turn existing storage devices into dynamic media players.
In order to add media player functionality, users simply need to connect the Classic Bridge to a TV, connect a storage device and play libraries of multimedia content in seamless 1080p HD resolution.
The company offers two options to create one’s own media player. Users can either hook an external USB drive at the front of the compact device for easy access to their media files or place in an internal hard disk directly into the system. Additionally, they can even take advantage of both the options for extended capacity.

Now, with the LaCinema Classic Bridge, users can take their storage solutions and transform them into fully-functional multimedia players, allowing them to conveniently browse and play content from within their entertainment set-up, without thinking twice,” noted Patrick Salin, Multimedia Business Unit Manager, LaCie.
Developed in the line of the LaCinema Classic, the LaCinema Classic Bridge flaunts the same features and functionalities of the former peripheral. It supports a host of multimedia file formats that include MPEG4, MP3 and JPEG as well as HD-JPEG for an exceptional viewing experience over HDMI output. Along with the list of features, the device also includes an HDMI cable.
Furthermore, the DivX-certified gadget enables consumers to watch DivX transcoded videos at a high quality and superior resolution.
The included remote control allows users to conveniently browse through a centralized media library. They have the freedom to select and play their preferred file. It even offers an intuitive navigation menu with a simple graphic selection for easy viewing of content.
LaCinema Classic Bridge is now available for a price tag of $99.99 (approx. Rs. 4,751) onwards. It can be purchased from the LaCie Online Store and LaCie Resellers.
