Sony brings the world’s first 24x DVD burner in the Indian market, called the AD-7240S.
Equipped with Auto Strategy Technology, this new high-end re-writable DVD burner claims to offer a burning rate of 24x. Besides, it also incorporates Adaptive Self Tuning that boasts of an excellent performance as the drive is capable to automatically adapt the disc and the hardware environment in every burning process to further balance quality fluctuation.

Compatible with a serial ATA interface, the AD-7240S can not only burn DVDs in +/-R format at up to 24x speed but also burn CDs at up to 48x speed. Moreover, users can write DVD-RAM and DVD+R9 format along with double layer DVD-R media at up to 12x speed. The DVD Re-Writable burner offers a writing speed of 8x for DVD+RW discs and up to 6x for DVD-RWs. The DVDs are read at up to 16x speed, whereas the CDs are read at 48x speed.

The Sony AD-7240S burner supports DVD+/-R, DVD+/-R DL, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM (Ver.2), CD-Audio, CD-ROM (mode1 and mode2), CD-ROM XA(mode 2, form 1 and form 2), Photo CD (single and multiple sessions), CD Extra, CD-R, CD-RW and CD-TEXT discs. The DVD Re-Writable drive also has the ability to play CD-I (FMV) and VIDEO CD with special hardware. Moreover, the burner is capable of playing DVD-Video with special function like MPEG decoder.
Priced at Rs. 1500, the Sony DVD Re-Writable AD-7240S is currently available with a 1 year warranty through Rashi Peripherals.
