Running a computer cool is probably the main concern of heavy-duty computer users. With that in mind, Asus has added the Sabertooth 55i motherboard to its TUF Ultimate Force Series.
This latest offering is built to be hardwearing with Marine Cool technology. The CeraM!X heatsink, like the name suggests, is manufactured from ceramic. The microfin texture allows for more efficient heat dissipation through the rough surfaces. The CoolMem! Fan Frame encompassing a standard 40mm or 50mm computer fan is fixed over the memory module. These cooling techniques work in unison to provide better cooling technology. The device’s capacitors have been put through thermal shock tests within the range of 60° C. The VRM MOSFETs have undergone severe tests too. The motherboard’s E.S.P. monitors all its components to deliver efficient power usage.
Sabertooth is implanted with the optional Intel Core i7 or Intel Corei5 processors. The CPU holds an LGA1156 socket. The embedded Intel P55 Express chipset is interoperable with the Intel Turbo Boost technology. The 6 SATA 3GB/s ports and Intel Matrix Storage technology lends support to RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10.JMicron JMB363 to SATA and PATA controller sports an external SATA 3GB port and Ultra DMA 133/100/66 for a maximum of 2 PATA implements. JMicron JMB322 DriveXpert technology enables EZ Backup and SuperSpeed function and features 2 SATA 3GB/s ports. The motherboard 4 DIMM slots of non-ECC, volatile memory capacity of 16GB DDR3 at 2000/1800/1600/1333/1066MHz accommodate Intel XMP. The product’s multi-GPU allows Nvidia Quad-GPU SLI as well as ATI Quad-GPU CrossFireX technology.
The configuration slots comprise of 2 PCI Express 2.0, single at x 16 and dual at x 8/x 8 mode, 3 PCI Express 2.0 x 1 2.5GT/s and 2 PCI slots. The AI NET2 LAN controller used in this device is the Realtek 811L PCIe GB. Additional ports include 14 USB 2.0 ports and 2 VIA 6308P controller supported IEEE 1394a ports. The Sabertooth is designed to supply the need for a powerful, but power-efficient computing experience. The cost of this mainboard is not yet out.
