Razer Maelstrom Audio Engine Launched at Games Convention

Razer has announced the availability of the latest peripheral, named Razer Maelstrom Audio Engine at Games Convention. The Razer Maelstrom is an upgraded virtual surround sound system found in the Razer Megalodon, Razer’s latest 7.1 surround sound gaming headset. The company claims that its Razer Maelstrom Audio Engine elevates the level of audio quality by processing positional audio 800% faster than comparable virtual surround sound systems.

The features of the Razer Megalodon headsets include, 20-20,000 Hz frequency response, 40 Ω at 1kHz impedance, sSensitivity (@1kHz, 1V/Pa): 105 ± 4dB at 1 kHz, 200 mW maximum input power and Neodymium magnet.

Beside, the Razer microphone carries specifications 50–16,000 Hz frequency response, sensitivity (@1kHz, 1V/Pa): -37 dB (user adjustable), 50 dB signal-to-Noise Ratio, an unidirectional pick-up pattern and 3.3 meters cable.

Expected to be available in fourth quarter of 2008 across the globe, the Razer Maelstrom Audio Engine comes with a price tag of US $149.99 (approx. Rs. 6,537) and €139.99 (approx. Rs. 9,016).
