WD TV Media Player Launched by Western Digital

Western Digital has announced the release of the latest WD TV Media Player.

Promising to bring digital media collections to the big screen, the latest media player has the ability to play all stored digital content on the HDTV in Full-HD 1080p resolution. It not only supports the WD My Passport drives but also the My Book family and other USB storage devices to easily stream the digital movies, music and photos to user’s TV or home theater.

With the help of the included remote control, users can easily navigate and play their favorite content with the media player’s high-definition on-screen menu. By using the automatic media aggregation, users have the freedom to view all their media-by-media type in one menu, irrespective of the location in folders or drives.

The plug-and-play WD TV Media Player sports two USB ports, HDMI port with additional composite (RCA) outputs, and free ArcSoft MediaConverter 2.5 software to easily convert photo, video, and music files into the supported formats.

The WD TV Media Player is currently available at WD’s online store and select retailers for an estimated price of $129.99 USD (approx. Rs. 6,190).
