Nyko Media Hub Launched for the Sony PS3

NYKO Media Hub In order to extend the connectivity of Sony’s PlayStation 3, Nyko has announced its latest gaming peripheral named Media Hub. The accessory has been introduced to expand the USB capabilities of the console with the three port-USB Hub and multi-card reader slot is compatible with SD cards and memory sticks.

Nyko has given a same color as that of all PS3 model to complement the color and contour of the system. It is said that the Nyko Media Hub can be used with the console by just hooking up through the USB port. The three additional USB ports allow gamers to connect three USB devices such as flash drives, PSP, MP3 players and additional controllers.

“We found that many of our customers who had purchased the popular 40 GB version of the PS3, which has less USB ports and no media card reader, were looking for an affordable solution to expand with these features. With the Media Hub, an additional three USB ports and a media card reader are now possible for all PS3 models, allowing consumers to enjoy the full capabilities of their multimedia system no matter which model they choose,” mentioned Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies.

The Media Hub is designed in such a manner that it does not require tools or internal modifications or even external power for easy function. It has the ability to draws its power directly from the PS3 and also gets installed in a fraction of seconds.

Priced at $19.99 (approx. Rs. 860), Nyko Media Hub for PS3 is schedule to reach the US stores in August 2008.
