Samsung has launched a powerful new optical disc drive named the TruDirect SE-S204S. It enables the user to create DVDs and burn digital content via a computer in record time and it also eliminates the need for a hard drive.
With this latest drive, you can easily and quickly precede the real-time recording from nearly any digital device. It works in the same way as VCR recording. Firstly, you need to hook up a digital device like a camcorder, digital camera or web cam to the computer or laptop. Now connect the Samsung TruDirect SE-S204S to the PC to burn DVD movies directly.

Samsung’s new optical disc drive has the ability to reduce the time taken to create DVDs. Further, it cuts down on the usage of pre-mastering, multiplexing or hard-disk buffering; instead it offers offers real-time, fast, and simple recording of personal videos, photos or data files onto DVD discs.
The features include 20X DVD+R and DVD-R writing, 16X DVD+R Dual Layer writing, 12X DVD-R Dual Layer writing and 12X DVD-RAM writing. Boasting to deliver fastest speed, the optical disc drive covers a one hour and five minutes time to create a DVD of a one-hour video stream, whereas to create a DVD from a one-hour hard disk drive camcorder file just takes 30 minutes.
Samsung TruDirect SE-S204S Optical Disc Drive has started shipping in US with a retail price of $159.99 (approx. Rs. 6,400).
