Motorola Edge+ hits India with flagship-grade features and a hefty price tag

As expected, the Motorola Edge+ has been launched in India, and the device has received a pretty hefty price tag of Rs 74999. This flagship smartphone boasts of a curved 90Hz display that tapers towards the phone’s edges, and hence the name. It will be made available for purchase through Flipkart and major offline retailers from May 26 onwards, but pre-bookings are already open right now.

A few offers have also been unveiled. Those buying the Motorola Edge+ will get a flat Rs 7500 instant discount if they use ICICI bank credit cards for making their purchases. This offer will be valid for EMI transactions as well. The price of Rs 74999 applies to the sole variant of the phone that comes with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

On its front, sits a 6.7-inch full HD+ OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Internally, things are taken care of by the Snapdragon 865 chipset that ships with its 2.8GHz octa-core CPU and its Adreno 650 GPU. The presence of this SoC also grants the phone 5G capabilities for whenever the standard is launched in India.

The Edge+ features a quad-camera system on its back, that’s highlighted by a 108MP f/1.8 main camera. The other two shooters include an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom support and a 16MP ultra wide-angle camera. You also get a TOF 3D camera with this phone.

The battery onboard this Motorola handset is a 5000mAh unit that grabs 18W fast charging support. A tiny punch-hole on its front is reserved for its selfie camera that’s 25MP in resolution.

May 26 is the day on which the Motorola Edge+ will be available for purchase in India at its Rs 74999 price tag.
