While the Nubia Z7 series never made it to India despite the company reassuring its arrival multiple times last year, the new flagship lineup has managed to enter into the country and the first device to go on sale is the ZTE Nubia Z9 mini. Other members in the series should arrive in the coming weeks.
The ZTE Nubia Z9 mini is one of the most attractive smartphones you’d find on the market at Rs 16999. Huawei’s Honor 6 and 6 Plus come close, but are on the expensive side. The handset in question flaunts a metal design where the frame is made from aircraft grade aluminum. And while the front has Gorilla Glass 3 protection, the rear panel features a textured design with a glass-like finish.
For the said price, the ZTE handset has managed to pack some pretty great features. It has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS LCD panel on the front accompanied by an 8MP selfie shooter. And on the rear, there’s a 16MP snapper with an LED flash. The phone doesn’t miss out on important connectivity features either, like dual SIM card slots, Wi-Fi ac and 4G LTE.

There’s also Android 5.0 Lollipop preloaded along with the company’s own custom UI. The disappointment here is the processor which is the 1.5GHz octa core Snapdragon 615 as there have been many reports of heat related issues doing the rounds on other devices. Well, things could be different for the Nubia Z9 mini.
