The HTC M7 has been in the spotlight for quite some time and now the device’s press shot has appeared on the web. We came across this smartphone’s specifications list about a month ago, which revealed that it tags along Android Jelly Bean and hides a quad core processor under the hood.
The M7 which is believed to be a flagship device of the Taiwanese manufacturer, was spotted in an animation clip by the guys over at Unwired View. But the website believes this couldn’t be the final design as the picture lacks branding and detailing. Reportedly, the handset sports an IR port which has been placed next to its power button for turning it into a wireless controller. Hopefully, the OEM will introduce it to us officially at the MWC 2013, to be held next month.
To refresh memories, the device’s front side is graced by a 4.7-inch diagonal display and although it is smaller than most of the upcoming smartphones that flaunt a 5-inch or larger display, the phone in question boasts of a pixel density of 468ppi. This SoLux screen featuring optical lamination technology is said to be capable of rendering clear high definition visuals, even in brightly lit conditions. As for the internal system, it has been blessed with a second generation quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor ticking at 1.7GHz.
And if that’s not enough to ensure smooth navigation and multitasking at all times, there’s 2GB of RAM as well. Apparently, the phone has 32GB of onboard storage, but we are not sure if it is expandable or not. The device is not expected to run anything less than the latest version of the Android Jelly Bean OS and needless to say, it will be tweaked with HTC Sense, probably version 5. A 13MP snapper with attributes like HDR, auto focus, LED flash and 1080p video recording function is likely to be accompanied by a 2MP front-facing webcam.
The HTC M7 release date may fall sometime in the weeks after the MWC and its unlocked price will be upwards of $600 (approx. Rs. 32,695). It may be carried by Verizon Wireless and Sprint in the US.
