Zync Cloud Z401 costs merely Rs 4,499, hits retail channels, online portals

The Zync Cloud Z401 is an entry-level Android phone which is well-suited for first time smartphone users or budget-conscious people who are looking for a mobile companion that doesn’t dig a huge hole in their pockets. It is a compact device that although runs Gingerbread, shows off an ICS UI.

The company says that it has entered the smartphone market after launching a number of feature phones with a view to bring wallet-friendly options to the market. Drenched in either black or white, the Zync handset is complete with dual cameras. A 2MP primary snapper facilitates clicking pictures and recording videos, while a 0.3MP webcam has been provided for video calling purposes.

As the Zync Cloud Z401 runs on Android, potential users can download applications like Skype, Viber, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and more through the Play store. A processor rests under the hood and manages to clock in a speed of 1GHz. It should at least support a couple of applications at the same time.

Its 4-inch capacitive touchscreen delivers visuals in 480 x 800p resolution. Unlike most devices of its ilk, the Zync Cloud Z401 has a single GSM SIM slot and can support up to 2G data networks. Also, there’s Wi-Fi for wireless internet through hotspots. The other connectivity options include a micro USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack and Bluetooth.

On the memory front you get 256MB of RAM and 512MB of onboard storage that can be expanded further by not more than 32GB using a microSD card. The essential sensors have been tossed into the mix and it is fueled by a 1300mAh lithium-ion battery.
