HTC Desire 500 officially comes to India for Rs 21,490

If you have Rs 21,490 to spare, then you can take a look at the HTC Desire 500 that has just gone official in the country, even though it was up for sale through e-retailers for a while now. Although this is what the company has pegged it at, you can still grab it for a discounted amount of around Rs 20,500.

Unlike devices dominating the smartphone markets in India, the HTC phone does not feature a huge 5-inch touchscreen, but it offers a decent multi-touch area that measures 4.3 inches diagonally. It is easily accommodated on the front panel of the chassis with dimensions of 131.8 x 66.9 x 9.9 millimeters. The phone weighs in at 123 grams.

This WVGA display has a 1.6MP camera with a BSI sensor for company and the phone’s 8MP snapper with features like auto focus, LED flash, HTC ImageChip, digital zoom and more can be used for the purpose of capturing videos and images. It is based on the Android Jelly Bean platform and employs the latest version of the Sense UI that in turn brings BlinkFeed, Beats Audio and more.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with four cores clocks in a maximum speed of 1.2GHz and maintains smooth multitasking at all times. There’s 1GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard memory which can be expanded further by up to 64GB. Its 1800mAh battery can cough up talk time for around 12.1 hours on a single charge.

The HTC Desire 500 is already available in India through leading online shopping portals and retail channels for the aforementioned price.
